The comradery and talent of The Andrews Sisters has been resurrected for an amazing musical entitled Sisters of Swing: The Story of the Andrews Sisters.
This triumphant Florida stage show follows Maxene, Patty and LaVerne Andrews from their early days, through the height of their stardom and finally to their melancholy separation. Both long-time fans and newcomers alike will enjoy the colorful story of this dynamic 1940s trio.
Jam-packed with over 20 of the sister’s classic tunes, Sisters of Swing brilliantly captures the spirit that made The Andrews Sisters such a huge hit. The audience will be tapping their toes and snapping their feet to unforgettable hits like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, and Rum and Coca Cola. A live six-piece orchestra accompanies the vocal styling of Maxene (Irene Adjan), Patty (Jennifer Swiderski) and LaVerne (Maribeth Graham).
The musical, written by Beth Gillenland and Bob Beverage, delves into the sister’s personal side, leaving the audience with a touching portrait of the women’s lives. Through the divorces, deaths and rise to success, Sisters of Swing showcases how the girls experienced their musical careers pre, post and during World War II.
